Royal Caribbean International is the owner of some of the most popular and most lavish ships ever to have floated out of shipyards. One of the jewels of this cruise giant is the MS Majesty of the Seas. The majesty is a Sovereign class ship and it was built in France by Chantiers de l'Atlantique. The ship started its service on April 26, 1992. The ship underwent its first refit on January 12, 2007 which has extended its service life by quite a few years.
Specifications wise, this is a very decent ship with the ability to carry as many as 2744 passengers. The gross tonnage of the Majesty of the Seas is rated at 73,941. The length of the ship is 880' and its beam is measured at 106'. This ship has a draft of 25' and it can cruise at a speed of 19 knots fairly comfort-ably.
A number of features on this ship make it a very special choice. For the people looking for some at sea adventure, this ship has a rock climbing wall, two whirlpools, two outdoor pools and special Adventure Ocean youth facilities, including teen-only areas. For those with a huge appetite, the Majesty has a Johnny Rockets '50's-style restaurant, a Sorrento's Pizza, a Latté-tudes coffee house which serves 'Seattle's Best Coffee' and a number of themed bars and lounges including a special Boleros Latin lounge.
The ship also has a Casino Royale facility which allows you to try your luck and make some quick buck. The living area of the ship is really well appointed and can be considered among the best offered by Royal Caribbean. The living area of the Majesty of the Seas offers a well equipped day spa and fitness center as well as a full size open-air basketball court.
If you want to use Majesty of the Seas for a business cum pleasure trip, there are full business and conference facilities on board. The ship features three conference centers attached with seven alter-nate rooms which can be used as meeting or breakout rooms. Each conference center features a TV, DVD/CD player, Video Cassette Recorder, audio cassette recorder, overhead projection system with slide projection capabilities, fixed podium, microphones, laser pointer, flipchart, easel and portable screen.
Majesty of the Seas is in regular service by Royal Caribbean. It follows a normal seven day cycle that also includes two weekly voyages. The Majesty of the Seas plies on four night cruises when it sails from the Port of Miami, stops over at Nassau, Bahamas, Coco Cay which is a private island owned by Royal Caribbean itself and finally to Key West. For every weekend, the ship plies on a three night cruise to Nassau and Coco Cay.
